DJ India's Tata Explores Engine Cooperation With Daimler -Report


 
FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--India's carmaker Tata Motors Ltd (TTM) is seeking a closer cooperation with German premium carmaker Daimler AG (DAI), weekly magazine Focus reports, without revealing its sources.

In an advance copy of a report to be published in Monday's magazine, Focus says Tata's owner Ratan Tata met with Daimler managers in India and South Africa to discuss cooperation in the area of engine deliveries to Tata's newly acquired Jaguar and Land Rover acquisitions.

Daimler, Tata couldn't be immediately reached for comment Sunday.

Focus says a spokesman for Daimler confirmed there was a meeting between managers of both firms, but declined to comment further.
